The Branding Series #5 - Consistency is Key

So far in the branding series, we have learned that strong brands are unique, instantly recognizable, trustworthy, and consistent. Part of being trustworthy means you are able to consistently produce the same quality (look and feel) of photos that you are known for, regardless of the situation you find yourself in.

HIGHLIGHTS

Why is consistency important?

Anyone can take a nice photo under perfect conditions, but a professional can take a great photo under ANY condition. That's the difference. Consistency is key.

A problem with consistency is one of the biggest problems I see photographers making in their brands and businesses…and, honestly, most don’t know they have this problem! If you discovered that this is problem for you, then that already puts you one step ahead of the masses.

If you feel like you have consistency in your images, then that is also really good information. You have consistency in your work, but what about in your marketing, business systems or workflows?

Consistency is the foundation of a strong photography brand!

My signature programs, The Missing Link and The Six Figure Studio, both teach photographers how to build consistency in their brands, but they do it in different ways.

The Missing Link is my online course that teaches people to create natural looking light with strobes and flash. I learned to do this in my own work, after spending about two years studying branding and business. In doing so, I discovered that I had a consistency problem, where the root cause was light. On beautiful days, my work was awesome. On dark and rainy days, it wasn’t.

I taught myself how to use lighting in a way that looked natural to fix that problem. This resulted in saving my business and building the rock solid brand I have today! That is why I’m SO passionate about teaching lighting, because I know what that one little skill can do for a photography brand and business.

The Six-Figure Studio is my group coaching program. It’s a little different from my other online course, because it has a live, face-to-face coaching component to it.

In that program, I teach photographers how to firm up their brand message by getting crystal clear on their signature style and who they serve. I also teach them how to take that information and use it to craft a marketing strategy that is simple, repeatable and gets results. A huge part of the program is about learning to create consistency in marketing, systems and workflows.
