Inside the Six-Figure Studio: What Do YOU Do?

The Six-Figure Studio is my signature group coaching program that helps photographers fine-tune their branding, marketing, and systems.

As part of the program, we have two coaching calls per month. On this new segment of the podcast, I am welcoming you into our coaching calls! This conversation was all about finding clarity in your business, which is a key component to building a successful business.

HIGHLIGHTS

Clarity is the foundation for everything else in your business.

When thinking about clarity, you need to ask yourself some questions such as:

What do you do?

Who do you serve?

What do you want to be known for?

These questions might sound simple, but it can actually be quite hard to answer them. It may take you down a rabbit hole. Once you do the work and find your answers, it just might transform your business.

Nailing the clarity piece is crucial. Be clear on what your clarity is right now, and allow it to evolve over time naturally.

How long does it take to find your style?

One of the students asked how long it took me to find my style. In the past, I have photographed everything from real estate to dogs to weddings, and so finding my style was a journey I also had to go on.

Looking back, my point of view and the way I framed things were the same, no matter what I was shooting. When I quit weddings, I decided to put on blinders. I didn't look at anyone else's work and got really focused on my own work.

Focusing on my own work was when I discovered my style. I realized I didn't want to travel all around and preferred studio work. Blocking out all the noise gave me all of the clarity I needed.

If you are going to run a long-term, sustainable career, then you need to be working in a way that you enjoy working. It should work for you and the lifestyle that you want to live.
