The Elevator Pitch Formula for Photographers

I'd like to talk about something I was thinking about on a recent morning walk. While I was out and about, I overheard a conversation between two gentleman that intrigued me. So I decided to turn my thoughts into a podcast episode!

The two men who passed by me were talking about elevator pitches and how they tend to be difficult. I totally relate to that, because I personally have struggled with elevator pitches. And that's why I created a formula for them!

The Elevator Pitch Formula

I help + (insert whoever you help here) + create/learn/capture (or whatever verb fits here) + (insert what you do here) + without + (whatever it is your clients want to avoid).

So an example could be: I help busy families capture the special moments of their lives without long, boring, drawn out photo sessions.

My personal elevator pitch is: I help photographers create natural looking light with strobes and flash, without a ton of equipment and without having to spend a ton of money.

Elevator pitches are helpful and important to have because it helps you to quickly and simply communicate what it is that you do. They can serve as the foundation for what you talk about on your website and in your marketing copy. Elevator pitches help you get crystal clear on what you do and who you serve.
