Inside the Six-Figure Studio: What Do You Do When Things Get Slow?

Photographers, do you experience slow seasons in your business? When slow seasons hit, do you panic and stress?

If you can relate, then this episode is for you! One of my Six-Figure Studio students mentioned how she had a very slow period this summer, and we discussed what you can do during times like that in your business. This conversation was taken directly from one of our coaching calls!

HIGHLIGHTS

How to Manage a Slow Season

One thing I recommend doing is track your year so you can look at the data each yeah and predict your slow seasons. This will bring you some comfort because you'll know your business isn't the problem—this is just a pattern! It also will help you plan ahead.

For example, if you know Q3 is always slow, ask yourself what you can plan for in January so you can make the most of the slow period.

The only thing that has gotten me through recessions and difficult times is that I kept showing up. When things are scary and uncertain, many people freeze. They stop showing up and marketing themselves because they believe it isn't a good time, but if you do that, it's really difficult to recover.

When things are slow, that's when you double down and show up more.

One of my students really focused on her customer experience during a slow period. She sent thank you notes, improved her workflow, and did things above and beyond that would help her clients remember her. Even though things were slow, she kept on going.

A lot of mindset blocks come up during slow seasons, but don't let them control what you do. This is when you should write more blog posts, create social media content, edit your website, and do things that continue to move the needle forward.

One last helpful tip: don't be afraid to ask for the sale!
