The Power of Consistency When Building Your Brand

Before I started shooting with artificial light, the inconsistency of using natural light hurt my business. I used to react instead of consciously create, which led to a lot of inconsistency in my work.

HIGHLIGHTS

A strong brand is built on consistency.

The lighting, style and editing was always a little different when I used natural light. This made it extremely difficult to build a strong, cohesive brand.

Sometimes we kind of "wing it" based on what is thrown at us during sessions. Photographers are great at making the most out of whatever they have.

Unfortunately, this can lead to a lot of inconsistency in what we are able to create.

I am so passionate about having a strong, solid brand because it is essential to having a strong, solid business.

If there is inconsistency in your work, it will be difficult to build trust with your clients. Your clients have a certain expectation for what their images will look like once they book you, and you would not be trustworthy if you do not deliver images of the same quality to all of your clients.

Consistency is how you build that trust with your clients. Have a plan in place to take control of your brand and consistency. Every paying client deserves portfolio-quality images. It is our job to ensure that is what they receive.
