You Do NOT Have to be All Things to All People! Why Niching Down is the Secret to Business Growth with Terry Riggins

Today I am speaking with a graduate of the Six-Figure Studio, Terry Riggins. I absolutely love getting to know the photographers in my group coaching program. It's really fun to hear their wins and their perspectives on different things.

Terry was in the first cohort of the program. She actually had been in business for 16 years when she joined, so I was excited to see how the program helped her already successful business.

HIGHLIGHTS

Why Terry Joined the Program

A friend of Terry's shared my work with her originally, and she was intrigued by the information about the Six-Figure Studio. As much as she loved her business, she felt like there were bigger financial opportunities for her.

Terry felt like there is always room to learn, even after being in business for 16 years. She felt like the structure of the program could really take her business to the next level.

The Six-Figure Studio Takeaways

Terry had a lot of epiphanies in the program. She enjoyed the information about educating clients upfront and being true to the type of photography you do. She also loved learning about clarity and consistency and how everything flows together.

Doing what is authentic for you streamlines everything. It solidifies your branding, blogging and client experience. Clarity really was huge for Terry, and she felt like this program cleared up a lot of where she wanted to take her business.

In photography, it is very easy to be reactive to inquiries and wanting to say yes to everything. However, that may not serve you in the long run. Saying yes to all things is not the way to grow your business in the long-term. This is a mistake that many photographers make, and it is one I have made myself in the past!

How Terry implemented the takeaways into her business

Terry found the information on how to improve her site extremely insightful. Her portfolio had so many different categories, and she realized she needed to narrow her focus on just the things she wanted to do.

When you simplify your business model, your pricing becomes simple. Everything is simplified, from your workflow to your communication.

Reservations about signing up

Terry was worried she would have nothing new to learn since she has been in business for 16 years. However, she felt like even though she was doing well, she knew she could be doing better.

She has also never done a group coaching program before and had to make an investment during an uncertain time. In the end, she felt like it was well worth the investment and really enjoyed the group coaching aspect! She felt the environment was very positive and nonjudgemental. It really set the tone for community and collaboration.

Advice for someone considering the six-figure studio

If you are on the fence about joining the Six-Figure Studio, Terry says to join the program! She said you will not be disappointed, and it will change everything for you.
