How to Overcome Self Doubt and Imposter Syndrome as a Self Taught Photographer with Katharina Esteves

Katharina Esteves, owner of Katharina Esteves Photography, is a documentary family and branding photographer. She is originally Brazilian, but has been living in the beautiful Seattle area for the last 14 years and loves it! Katharina was a part of the very first cohort of my group coaching program, The Six-Figure Studio.

Her passion for photography sparked when her first daughter, Sarah, was born ten years ago. She truly wanted to savor every moment of her childhood. She feels very drawn to the raw and unstaged connection families share. She is a mom of 2 beautiful girls, a wife and a coffee lover who enjoys giving her clients images that tell their stories in a way that allows them to feel all the love their daily lives don't always allow them to appreciate.

Obstacles on the road to clarity.

Katharina was a self-described trend chaser for many years before she found The Six-Figure Studio. She spent a lot of time doing the work she thought she should do instead of working towards what she truly wanted. Katharina was convinced that people would not be receptive to what she wanted to do and that she'd lose clients if she were to veer off the course she was on. This limiting mindset held her back for a long time.

Katharina found that her mindset was severely impacted by the mental blocks she had created for herself. When she thought she finally began to understood what she wanted, she lacked the courage to go out there and do it and frankly, the pandemic didn't help with that.

But then Katharina made a brave choice. She decided to invest in her business and herself by enrolling in my group coaching program, and she says it was a catalyst for big change in her life. I admire this decision because I believe it really does come down to a choice; you can work through the difficulties and see where they take you or you can do nothing and stay where you are. Rising to life's challenges is never easy, but Katharina did it with conviction and she and her business have thrived because of it.

Katharina on The Six-Figure Studio.

Katharina touched on how the clarity section of The Six-Figure Studio was a major lightbulb moment for her. Digging deep and asking herself the questions outlined in the program was what really helped her to transform her limiting mindset. In our coaching calls, we touch on a lot of the things Katharina was struggling with - money blocks, not feeling good enough, etc. - and this made her feel supported through this time of transformation.

Katharina also mentioned that she likes how I respect each individual's process, and it's true! I am not here to force you to do anything. I merely provide the blueprint but I cannot provide the timeline, because everyone has to come to this clarity piece on their own terms. The clarity lessons inside The Six-Figure Studio are there to guide you; they help you to meet yourself where you're at in that season of your life and grow from there.

Katharina's advice.

Katharina's advice is a great reminder for us all: if you're feeling stuck, just remember that you don't need to do everything at once. Keep in mind that progress isn't linear. And know that being an artist requires vulnerability and courage.
